E-sports
SCLA esports players are in grades 9-12 (must be at least 13 years old by September) with any experience level who play League of Legends, FIFA 21, Splatoon 2, SMITE, Super Smash Brothers Ultimate, Rocket League, or Madden NFL 21 (game selection depends on the number of players available for each game). The team roster is capped at 16.
In-person and online students are allowed to participate in esports. Students may participate in both esports and other activities if the esports match day can be available consistently and if the supervisor/coach of the other activity is agreeable.
Practices are scheduled by student teams, depending on individuals’ schedules and the technology used for particular games.
Equipment Needed
Students will provide their own console or PC needed for the game, a copy of the game, along with any accounts or subscriptions needed to play online. Depending on the game, students may also need to provide additional equipment such as mice and headsets with microphones. If students do not have access to the necessary equipment, we may be able to make other arrangements.
