The Fine Arts Festival at SCLA (FAFS) is an opportunity for grade school and middle school instrumentalists, vocalists, and visual artists to perform, display, and enhance their God-given abilities in the area of the fine arts. Schools and students of the St. Croix Lutheran Academy Association, West Lutheran High School Association, and area homeschools are encouraged to participate.

Solos and Groups

All students attending a WELS or ELS elementary school in grades 5-8 are eligible to participate in vocal or instrumental solos and/or ensembles. A student may participate in up to four events overall (not including band and choir.)

Vocal Solos, Duets, and Ensembles
Students may perform selections from any source with the exception of the selected choir selection. The music may be sacred or secular, but should be approved by each school’s music director. Duet and small ensemble selections must be in two or more parts. No unison duets or ensembles will be allowed.

Instrumental Solos, Duets, and Ensembles
Students may use music from any source. However, suggested lists may include the Wisconsin School Music Association official list or the Wisconsin Elementary Band Director’s Association list. 

Scores, with measures numbered, should be presented to the clinician at the time of the performance. Photocopies will not be allowed except for unpublished or original works.

Visual Arts

Download the Art Registration LabelAny students attending a WELS or ELS elementary school in grades 5-8 are invited to submit artwork from the categories of  2-D (drawings, prints, paint­ing, collage, etc.) or 3D (assemblage, modeling, or carving) Please do not submit crafts or kits.

Only one entry per person not to exceed 36x36 in. Each art entry is required to have an Art Registration Label attached to it when it is dropped off at St. Croix Lutheran. Work can be brought the day of the Festival as well.

Students who submit work for the exhibit are invited to attend a workshop are welcome to attend a workshop on campus the day of the Festival for further development of their chosen subject or media of interest. The purpose of the workshop is to give participants personal feedback on the work they submitted and to provide an opportunity for further development in their media of interest. Basic drawing supplies will be provided. Students who wish to work with paint or in 3D media should plan to bring their own supplies. The workshop will be open in the morning and afternoon and participants will be free to come and go as it fits their schedule.

Register by March 22

Participating schools are required to complete both the "School/Director" and "Solo/Ensemble" forms. The art registration form can be completed as needed for each piece of artwork submitted.

FEE InformaTION

Solos (Piano, Vocal, Instrumental) = $8 
Duets (Piano, Vocal, Instrumental) = $10
Ensembles = $15
Art Entry Fee = $5

Billing Policy - SCLA will generate an invoice for your school and email it to the director (contact person as listed on the school registration online form).
